“Fab course! Answered all my questions” said Helene.

June 19th saw our 3rd photography seminar hosted at  patissier, and what a fantastic day it was.

An all-girl class of varying ages arrived armed with cameras ready to have fun. The course was all about taking control and being creative – being bold.

Simply by knowing a little about how to control the camera beyond just clicking the button puts the photographer in the ‘driving seat’. You can know how to get those great images that previously were a lucky accident. In the morning we discussed some technical details about depth of field and composition. Then, after a delicious lunch laid on by Slattery's, the afternoon was spent enjoying taking photographs. We were given access to a cricket game providing a perfect chance to experiment with depth of field.
“I’ve had a great day!” said one of the girls.

Remember, take photographs of things YOU find interesting and be proud to show them off.

We’ll be planning another seminar soon, call Pam at Slattery’s on 0161 767 9303 to join the fun.

Last Friday I had the privilege of meeting Steve Hall. Steve was introduced to me by Debi Fellone of 'Best of Bury' as a man on a mission. He is combining his love of football with a cause he feels strongly about. I’ll let Steve tell you about it in his words:

"My plan is to cycle to all the 92 football league clubs in England and Wales between May and August 2010. Why am I doing this? My aim is very clear. I want to help to raise awareness for the world’s 45 million refugees. I am not looking to raise money. I am simply focused on raising the level of awareness for this huge global issue. I started on 19th May in London and will finish in London on 18th August. So, some 3 months and almost 3,000 miles!

Life has been good to me and I feel it is time to give something back. I am not a huge fan of rattling charity tins and I am not a trained nurse/doctor so PR/marketing is probably where I can best contribute. I am NOT looking to raise funds. That is NOT what the United Nations want.

Please check through my web-site to learn more about the project, the people involved and how you can also help and get involved.

Thanks,

Steve" www.theshirt2010.co.uk
